Every so often a listing reminds me why so many buyers fall for New Holland. 221 Brimmer Avenue is one of them: a 1902 two-story home with a wrap-around front porch, updated inside but still full of its original character, listed at $309,900 after a recent $10,000 price reduction. Median sale prices in town have come down from last year, and that makes this a good time for ELANCO buyers to take a close look.
221 Brimmer Ave, New Holland, PA 17557 is a single-family home with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and about 1,452 square feet of living space on a 5,227-square-foot lot. It was built in 1902, and the sellers have clearly worked to keep the old-house charm while making it comfortable for everyday living.
The wrap-around front porch is the first thing you'll notice, and it's the kind of porch people actually use. Inside, restored pinewood floors and high ceilings lead into an open floor plan. The kitchen has a breakfast bar island, and the first-floor tiled bathroom was newly installed. In the basement, the owner set up an office and restored the stone walls so the original stonework is exposed. It's a nice spot for anyone who works from home and wants a separate space to do it.
Out back, a patio opens onto landscaped yard and gardens enclosed by a vinyl privacy fence, which is harder to find than you'd think this close to town. There's also an 8x10 garden shed, a one-car garage, and off-street parking for two more cars. Central air keeps the house comfortable, and the listing also calls out low property taxes. At about $213 per square foot, it's priced for first-time buyers, downsizers, and anyone who wants character without a big renovation project.

New Holland is the hub of the Eastern Lancaster County School District (ELANCO). It's a real small town with a Main Street, local shops, churches, and neighbors who have been here for generations. Students in the borough attend ELANCO schools, including Garden Spot High School. Families should always confirm school assignments for a specific address directly with the district.
For commuters, Route 23 runs right through town toward Lancaster city to the west, and Route 322 and the Blue Ball area are just to the east. That puts Ephrata, Leola, and the rest of Lancaster County within easy reach. A lot of buyers I talk with like New Holland because it feels settled and walkable, and the farmland of eastern Lancaster County is only a few minutes' drive away. Intercourse, Blue Ball, and Terre Hill are all nearby for weekend drives, farm stands, and back roads that are especially pretty this time of year.
Homes like this one on the older, established streets near the center of the borough don't come up often. If you're weighing New Holland against nearby towns, you can explore more ELANCO homes for sale to see what else is on the market in the district right now.
New Holland is still one of the more competitive markets in the county. According to Redfin's August 2026 data, the median sale price over the last three months was about $339,000, down 10.9% from the same period a year ago. Homes typically went under contract in about a week, and 14 homes sold in August. Homes sold for about 103% of list price on average, and roughly 43% of sales closed above asking. So prices have softened a bit, but well-priced homes are still moving quickly. That's why a recent price reduction on a home with this much character is worth paying attention to. If 221 Brimmer interests you, I'd recommend getting your pre-approval in order and planning to tour it soon.
